MSPA HomeJUST A SHORT STORY...

When winter covers Manitoba with thick layers of snow, and Manitobans desperately hide themselves from -30 temperatures, some skydivers take off and follow the snowbirds, heading South.

There, warmed by hot sun of Arizona and by friendly fellows from all over the world, they enjoy endless opportunities to master their skills on the world's most popular Drop Zone.

Garth in his solo freefall And all these luxuries are available for everyone, not only for top-level skydivers! Garth Brown had had only about 15 jumps in Manitoba, when winter had put an end to a season. Traveling to Arizona with his coach Rob Hutchinson (more often known as Hutch), he was able in a shortest time to move from his student status to a fully qualified A-licensed skydiver. 50 jumps over just couple weeks - including one-on-one jumps with a coach, solo free falls, jumps with cameraman, jumps from large airplanes from 14000 feet for 60-70 freefall seconds, jump from hot air balloon... Nice baggage to start new Manitoba season with!
Nesta Chapman, a coach from Edmonton was coaching a week-long skills camp in Winnipeg in the last season, and had made many good friends in our city. And Arizona is a nice place to meet friends!
